While the season may have ended in the first round of the playoffs\, fans were still treated to numerous nationally televised games this year\, and this Lions unit proved they were ...not the same pushovers from years prior. They became a force in the NFC and a likely fixture in the playoff race for the foreseeable future.    Tom Lewand was named president of the Detroit Lions in December 2008\, after the team finished the first 0-16 season in NFL history. Lewand will share his vision for the Lions franchise as well as details of this great comeback story--similar to the comeback that Dearborn business is now experiencing.    He previously served as the Lions Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. He succeeded Matt Millen as the president. In his role as president\, Lewand oversees all aspects of the Lions organizations.    In his formal education\, Lewand holds B.A. (1991)\, J.D.\, and M.B.A. degrees (1996) from the University of Michigan.
